1The Comité Congolais des Grands Barrages, abbreviated to CCGB, is a not-for-profit technical-scientific association in the DRC, and is the national representative of the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD).

2The purpose of this association is to promote the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of dam engineering. The ICOLD guides the profession in the efficient construction of economical structures that comply with safety regulations and environmental imperatives.

3The CCGB, which is the national representative of the ICOLD, is a non-profit association which will henceforth bring together engineers, geologists and scientists belonging to private or governmental organizations, engineering consultancies, universities, laboratories and construction companies; Dams and reservoirs are among the most sensitive large-scale engineering works, capable of contributing directly to the integral development of an entire universe if designed and built in accordance with regulatory instructions and good engineering practice. But they can also be subject to devastating effects, irreversible disasters and even fatal situations if they are not built in compliance with the instructions laid down by the experts of the various structures responsible for standardization and legislation of these major structures at both national and international level;

Our mission
and objectives
The primary objective of the CCGB, like that of the ICOLD, is to :
- Promoting
progress in the planning, construction, monitoring and control
operation and maintenance of large dams and associated civil engineering structures, by
